Biography
With over 25 years professional experience, San Diego County based drummer Laura Dunn is an accomplished and sought-after performer and instructor in her field. The Los Angeles, California native spent her early years performing in a variety of concert and marching bands – as well as drum lines, beginning her training in Junior High and moving on to become Claremont High Schools drum captain. Performing in various punk and hip-hop cover bands throughout her late teen years, the genres roots can still be heard in her music today. Over the past decade she has been an instrumental player at The Bridge Church in Murrieta, CA and can be found playing most Sundays. The weekly live stream can be viewed at www.thebridgechurch.tv. The main focus and mission of Laura’s career is to inspire those she touches and lead them to experience God through worship music. Educating burgeoning percussionists is equally as gratifying, having been an instructor for Rhythm and Music Theory at a local charter, as well as a music leader at Centerpoint Church’s Worship Arts Academy and a speaker at the Chorus Church’s School of Worship Conference. She continues to teach in private sessions - ranging from beginner to professional. Her adept knowledge of reading, theory and drum rudiments makes her proficient in her teaching. In addition to her teaching, her works as a freelance drummer has afforded her numerous experiences including appearances at The Merc in Old Town Temecula, House of Blue Los Angeles and landed her the opportunity to sit as a judge for Guitar Center’s world famous “Drum Off!”. Laura has also appeared in numerous music videos and music-based reality shows. Having been able to showcase her talents in highly visible arenas, Laura continues to solidify herself as a strong force in the music world.
