Biography

My name is Delaney Jaster. I am 21 years old. I live in Kansas. I have been drumming since I was little, but started to take it serious after my first talent show in 3rd grade. I enjoyed the feeling I had rocking out on stage and how it inspired me to learn more and more about it. I would listen to bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Beartooth, Slipknot, and Bullet for My Valentine and would go to my drums and practice immediately. My family is a huge support system and encouraged me to build on my talent. I joined School Of Rock for a couple of years and learned how to work together in a band and stage performance. I decided to branch off and work with drummers in the professional field. I have worked with them on a variety of different styles. By doing this I have been able to take what I have learned and turn it into my own style of music. I practice drumming every day, whether it be learning new styles, working on cover songs with challenging beats, to making new solos. Drumming is my happy place. I record in my basement, that I have set up as my band room. I am able to be me and lose my thoughts, which is usually when I come up with my best beats. My dream and goal has always been to perform on a big stage in front of thousands of people with a band. Performing in front of others is uplifting because I like to see how music brings a whole crowd of people together. Throughout my musical journey I have met some really amazing people. Influences from Kansas City have been Jan Faircloth, Go-Go Ray, Kent Burnham, Cody Miller, Jojo Valdez and the rest of the staff from Explorers Percussion. I am now in the metal band Stitched Up Heart! I have been touring and meeting so many musicians along the way!
