Biography

Daniel Alvarez was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic on February 27tb, 1992. From bis early years, He started to play the drums self-taught. His father is a well-known bass player from the Dominican Republic, so as a child He used to go to his dad's rehearsals, and sat down behind the drummer. This way, He grew up listening to Jazz. At the age of 8, He began to take drums lessons with professor Ramon Solano, one of the best drum teachers in the country. Under bis teaching, Daniel learned the drum foundation, rudiments and techniques. Had bis first own concert at 9 years old. Daniel started to play at Church, where He learned to play popular styles. He studied music for four years at the Culture and Arts Institute (ICA) in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Daniel was selected to participate f or two consecutive years at the Berklee in Santo Domingo program.
