Starting from his earliest childhood memories of drumming on all kinds of household items to evolving into one of the most highly respected drummers, producers and composers in nearly every music publishing medium, Buddy Gibbons continues to build his reputation with new projects that include global television productions, motion pictures, advertising, session work and live performances. While he may not be a household name, rest assured you’ve heard his work if you watch television. With nearly 200,000 placements on network television, Buddy is a highly respected and sought-after musician n the entertainment hub that is Los Angeles. Buddy’s work has garnered him endorsement deals with a variety of musical instrument, professional audio and consumer products manufacturers and his social media presence appears on NextBigSound.com as a “viral” content provider. Buddy Gibbons is not just “the drummers’ drummer,” he offers the full scope of his abilities on stage, in the studio and as a clinician. Buddy has recently provided music for networks such as CBS, NBC, Fox Sports, Animal Planet, Hulu and Netflix. He was also commissioned by the Los Angeles Dodgers to create the team theme song and stadium intro music for all Dodgers home games, television broadcasts, and web presence. His mentors, friends and family encouraged him to explore bigger opportunities beyond the limitations of his surroundings. His outstanding reputation earned him an instructional position during his second year attending The University of Alabama. While migrating from marching drum to full drum kit performances, he maintained a signature style that put his talents on a very short list of “go-to” drummers for a very diverse list of artists. Sound character: A fusion of darkness, energy, projection and brilliance. Very wide range, complex, musical mix. Responsive feel, extremely controllable. Woody, silvery, spanky ping over crunchy, thriving wash. Extremely versatile, flexible ride for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Mark II: Tends to be a bit livelier and brighter. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound. Mark II also has a bit more volume potential due to its more open character.
