Biography

Adriel was born on October 7, 2000 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He grew up in a family of professional musicians who play with various artists. From the age of 4 he began to study music in the program called POSJU with the teacher Carlos I. Ríos who taught him to read music and play different percussion instruments. At the age of 10, he entered the 100x35 program in which he studied with Professor Jose Alicea Espada, who taught him to play classical percussion instruments and played with the youth orchestra of Puerto Rico. At the age of 12, he entered the Ernesto Ramos Antonini Free School of Music, where he studied percussion and his first steps in Jazz. In 2018 he competed in the Berklee high school festival and got the first place. He was currently studying his bachelor's degree in drums, under the jazz and Caribbean music program at the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory and thats when his professional touring life began. He has played with great artists such as Charlie Cepulveda, Edgar Abraham, William Cepeda, Claire Delic, Gale, Matt Louis, Sebastián Otero, PJ Sin Suela, Tomy Torres, Alvaro Díaz, Pedro Capo, Ivy Queen and Young Miko. He is part of different projects such as Imbuyé, Imbuyé Jazz Collective, Los que somos, La necedad, Emplegoste and many more. He has worked on records with Jomar Santana, Luisfra Colon, Gabriel Acevedo, Pedro Capo, and is currently the main Drummer of Young Miko. He is an excellent musician who, due to his influences and teachers, was able to develop a very particular and versatile style on his instrument. Thanks to these factors, he is considered one of the best musicians of his generation.
