Biography
Aimie Mallon is a drummer from rural Ireland known for her experimental set up and raw, live energy. In 2018, she received a bachelors degree in commercial modern music from BIMM Dublin specializing in drums. During her final year, Aimie became fascinated in blending traditional Latino and West African styles of drumming with the hard, electronic sounds of Detroit techno and Chicago house. This contemporary, hybrid approach to drumming is the spark for all her inspiration and creativity towards playing. Another indispensable factor in the development of Mallon’s drumming has been her choice to join the band ‘Le Boom’ in 2016. Le Boom’s Christy Leech and Aimie Mallon have quickly become one of the most sought-after acts thanks to their energetic live shows at the festivals including Live at Leeds, The Great Escape, Primavera Sound Pro, Electric Picnic and cities such as London, Murcia, Reykjavik, and Bilbao. Aimie is experimenting with new ideas and recording techniques for Le Boom’s first debut album which is the motive for all her current work.
