Dave Astor and Pathology Release “The Time of Great Purification”

Pathology have been an absolute machine since joining the Victory Records family less than three years ago. Already with multiple North American tours under their belts in 2012, Pathology continues to shake up the American death metal movement on their third album in as many years. The crushing new release, “The Time of Great Purification,” was recorded at Lambises Studios (As I Lay Dying) where 2011’s “Awaken to the Suffering” and 2010’s “Legacy of the Ancients” were also recorded.

“The Time of Great Purification” delivers a solid slab of knuckle-dragging Neanderthal, slammy brutality that makes no pretenses of being anything but. From the putrid, gurgling, indecipherable vocals to the endless bar-rage of blast beats and slicing guitars, Pathology is a true showing of what modern death metal is and should be. “The Time of Great Purification” is a death metal gem that brings an assault of bludgeoning grooves executed with such flawless ferocity. Pathology will be banging heads well into 2013 with endless touring plans in the works.
