Canadian hybrid drummer Merlin Ettore shows up in France on 30th/31st July for a clinic at Borderline Drum Stage.

Merlin’s drumming is the creative melting of drums and cymbals with electronic percussion sounds and effects. In his clinic Merlin explains concepts of setups with acoustic instruments and electronic devices like samplers, triggers etc. Further he demonstrates special acoustic sounds such as cymbal stacks and different types of Hi-Hats. Not only choice and setting up the equipment, but also the creative usage of these instruments for performances in studio and on stage. Merlin also exemplifies, how to adjust musical phrasing, rhythmic patterns and grooves in conjunction with electronic instruments and electronic sounds.

Highlights of his clinics are his breathtaking improvised solo performances and compositions.
