Mexican drummer, percussionist and vocalist based in New York , graduated Summa Cum Laude in Berklee College of music. For the last ten years, she has been performing extensively in Mexico, The US, South America, Europe, Asia and the middle East with distinctive projects that rank from latin music, jazz, funk, Classic indian music to fusion and pop having appeared in more than one hundred radio stations and tv programs worldwide such as CNN international, UNIVISION (US/Latin America), The Thelegraph (India) ,La Reforma (Argentina), Paris Dj (France) All about Jazz, to name a few...Some of her Highlight performances include big audience international festivals such as The Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada, New Morning in Paris, Primavera Festival in Barcelona Spain, Fusion Festival in Germany John F, Kenedy Center and Lincoln Center in New York, Calcutta Jazz Festival in India Michigan Womyn”s Festival in Chicago, Virada Cultural in Brazil, International Circuit it Bahrain in the Middle East, Teatro Colón among many more... Karina has also performed/collaborate with renown international artist and grammy award winners Saxophonist Paquito D Rivera (Birdland Jazz Cub), Mariachi Flor de Toloache ( Latin Grammy award winner 2017) Mexican por artist Thalia (Teletón 2014 at ABC studios NY ) Rubén Blades, (Gregorio Uribe Big Band, cd album “Cumbia Universal” ) and has shared stage with Mexican Drummer Antonio Sanchez, mexican composer Armando Manzanero, and Chilean jazz singer Claudia Acuña. As a music educator, Karina has participated in jazz seminars in her country Mexico, many latin workshops in USA including The Latin week in Berklee, and drum clinics in Dehli and Mumbay in India, where she has been drum faculty several times at Swarnabhoomy Academy of Music in Chennai.
