Francis Cassol is a Hard Rock and Heavy/Prog Metal drummer currently based in Los Angeles. Originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil, he saw his life change at the age of 11, after watching Guns N’ Roses ’91 Rock in Rio performance on TV. He instantly knew he would devote his life to drumming.

Performing heavily for the past 16 years, Francis recorded three albums with his Heavy Metal band Scelerata, which were all released worldwide: Darkness & Light (2006), Skeletons Domination (2008), and The Sniper (2012). The Sniper was recorded in Germany with top metal producer Charlie Bauerfeind (Motörhead, Saxon, Blind Guardian, Helloween, among others).

Francis did five Brazilian tours and 50+ shows as Paul DiAnno’s (former Iron Maiden’s lead singer) official drummer, from 2009 to 2014, until Paul was forced to pause his touring activities due to health issues. All this above led to a five-page interview in Brazil’s edition of Modern Drummer magazine, in the February 2013 issue.

In the summer of 2017, he recorded Rage In My Eyes’ first album in Los Angeles, at Daufembach Studios, with Brazilian top metal producer Adair Daufembach. Being from southern Brazil, the band blends heavy/prog metal with elements of milonga – a music genre from southern Brazil, Uruguai and Argentina – presenting a never-heard metal before.

Along with his performing career, Francis is also a Music Educator, teaching the art of drumming since 2002. In June 2017 he graduated in Music Education with an average grade of 9.84 over 10. Immediately after graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to enroll at the Musicians Institute (MI) Drum Program, granted with two scholarships. Since he arrived in LA, Francis has been performing and recording regularly, including performances with America’s Got Talent winner Bianca Ryan and frequent appearances at the legendary Ultimate Jam Night.

Francis also performs drum clinics and masterclasses. In his curriculum there are clinics playing with Eloy Casagrande (Sepultura) in 2016 and Dave Lombardo (former Slayer) in 2014.
