Biography


Christian Euman is one of the important young, emerging voices on the drum set, and his unique style, creative approach to performance and improvisation, and infectious energy keeps him in high demand. His musicianship was shaped during his time as a student at Western Michigan University, as well as at the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA, where he studied, performed, and toured with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Chris Potter, Jimmy Heath, Stefon Harris, and many more. Christian has since performed and toured with Kurt Elling, Billy Childs, Walter Smith III, Geoff Keezer, Jacob Collier, Alicia Olatuja, Marquis Hill, and many others. Performance highlights include being the featured drummer for “La La Land: Live” at the Hollywood Bowl, conducted by the film’s scorer Justin Hurwitz; spots at prominent festivals including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival and more; as well as consistently working in the most renowned music venues all around the world. Christian has also established himself as an appreciable bandleader and composer, leading different projects at performance spaces throughout the country.

Christian is currently based in Los Angeles, CA and actively performs around the world as well as locally. He is a proud endorser of Canopus Drums, Aquarian Drumheads, and Paiste Cymbals.
