Biography

Pip’s professional drumming career started at the age of 19, following a one year scholarship at Drumtech under the Director Francis Seriau, He went on to form The Pecadiloes with his twin brother and guitarist Nick Mailing. The band quickly gained critical acclaim for their live performances and soon secured a “record signing” deal with A&M records and EMI publishing.

They recorded two albums and several EPs and gained a popular reputation for producing music that pushed the boundaries. They also established a recording studio and record label to help push new acts and give them a platform to get heard.

Pip joined The Quireboys in 2003 when the band re-formed. His laidback groove and musical approach to the drums made him a permanent fixture in a band that had previously relied on session players.

Pip recorded and toured the “Well Oiled” and “Homewreckers And Heartbreakers” albums and live DVD with The Quireboys, playing all over the world at high profile events such as Sweden Rock and the Wacken Festival, and as special guests opening for Whitesnake, David Lee Roth, U.F.O and Alice Cooper.

In 2009 Pip took a sabbatical from The Quireboys to persue other musical interests as a session player. Most notably touring with musical heavyweights James Burton and Albert Lee.

Pip rejoined The Quireboys in 2013 with the launch of their 6th studio album Beautiful Curse and 2013 European tour.
