Tripp Beam began playing drums at age 12. Originally introduced to music by way of the piano, Tripp's interests took a turn after 5 years of studying to pursue the drum set. His high school years were active in the jazz, marching, and concert bands on the east coast, as well as performing in groups outside of school anywhere he could.

Upon graduation from the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University Tripp settled in Los Angeles, CA. Still in his 20's, he's performed or recorded with Rose Falcon, Steve Porcaro (Toto), Heather Porcaro, Brooke Waggoner and most recently Moby to name a few. In 2012 Tripp was the drummer for the sold out Evening With Paul Williams/Phantom of the Paradise event held in Los Angeles. Paul Williams is an Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe winning Hall of Fame songwriter and the current president and chairman of ASCAP.

Tripp joined the indie-pop duo Psychic Friend in 2011. In 2013 the band signed to Dangerbird Records and released their debut record "My Rocks Are Dreams." A bonus release is scheduled for August 6th 2013.
