Brian Ferguson is a studio and live Musician/Drummer/Producer based in Austin, Texas. He began playing drums and percussion at the age of 10 and has never looked back. A consummate student of the instrument and it's significance to American Music, Brian can be found touring, recording and producing a wide variety of acts. His deep knowledge of drumming and music allow him to contribute to any musical situation while inspiring the band to play their best. His light sense of humor and punctual professionalism make him an irreplaceable and key ingredient to a wide variety of musical projects.
Currently, Brian is drumming with Nashville based Pop-Country Artist Hudson Moore, in addition to his own project the The Harvey Kartel. THK is the creative outlet and side project of Brian and Steve Miller guitarist Jacob Petersen. The band is rounded out by Keith "Kiko" Hanna (Hudson Moore, Sherman), Jeff Bryant (Alpha Rev, Cory Morrow) and Ty Curtis.
Brian has toured throughout the US, Canada and Europe. Brian's knowledge and respect for the history of the instrument has given him the ability to authentically blend into a wide variety of styles: Rock, Country, Soul, Blues, Jazz and Gospel. This approach has allowed Brian to perform/record/tour with a wide variety of artists including but not limited to: Aaron Watson, Eleven Hundred Springs, Zane Williams, Adam Hood, Jason Eady, Rob Baird, Curtis Salgado, Mike Morgan and the Crawl, Carter Beckworth and Bubba Hernandez. While with Country Artist Aaron Watson, Brian appeared on his heavily aired CMT videos "Lips" and "Raise Your Bottle", recorded/toured behind his Billboard Top 10 record 'Real Good Time' and was an integral part of Aaron's touring apparatus that entertained thousands of fans with over 150 shows a year.
As a producer, Brian has collaborated with Jacob Petersen to form 'You're Welcome Productions'. Their co-production can be heard on Ty Curtis' self titled 2012 release and Ty's current 2014 'Water Under the Bridge'. Brian also provides drum tracks, loops and songwriter sounds to clients all around the globe from his home studio.
As an educator, Brian is comfortable in private lesson, mater class and clinic settings. His teaching can be found through his featured video lesson series at VicFirth.com. In addition to his busy playing career, Brian continues to carve out time to teach and foster students in and around his Austin, TX home.
