Dan has been playing drums since he was 9 years old. While attending East Carolina University's School of Music, he auditioned and was hired at age 19 to join the cast of the Off-Broadway show "STOMP". After performing in the New York company, he joined the national tour, eventually playing the lead role and becoming Rehearsal Director. During this tour, he had the opportunity to perform on stage with Bobby McFerrin for the Presidential Millenium Celebration and appeared on several tv shows, including "Good Morning America", among many others.
Dan has since moved back to NYC to continue his music career and has performed at such venues as Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, The Grand Ole Opry, Radio City Music Hall and recently The Continental Airlines Arena for the Wu-Tang Clan.
Currently, Dan subs on drums in the orchestra pit for the Broadway show "WICKED" and plays auditions for casting offices including Bernard Telsey Casting. He is also the drummer for the up and coming kids rock band "The Jimmies" (gimmejimmies.com) which, among other accolades, was awarded the prestigious Oppenheimer Best Toy Award for their first album. They were also voted one of the "Top 20 Kids Albums of the Decade" by AOL's Parentdish and have performed at Lollapalooza, as well as Austin City Limits. He also currently plays drumset for a number of pop and soul artists in the city including Pauline Pisano (paulinepisano.com), Jim Van Slyke (LML Records, jimvanslyke.com), Lindsey Mae (lindseymaemusic.com), Kevin So (kevinso.com), and John Boy (theboyexperience.com). Dan is also proud to be the musical director and drummer of "All Heart", a Heart tribute band comprised of Broadway singers and musicians. In addition, he occasionally performs for corporate events for companies such as GM, Microsoft, Pfizer. etc.
As a personal highlight, Dan has had the honor of being featured alongside bassist John Patitucci for a track on "Sharecropper's Seed", an album for Word Records/Warner Music recording artist Nicole C. Mullen.
