Biography


Jade burst onto the national music scene in 2004 as the driving force behind Blues & Roots act, “The Dave Mann Collective” and has since gone on to perform with award-winning West Australian Indigenous act, The Yabu Band and the highly successfully electro-pop outfit, Tim & Jean.

A Murri boy, although born in Northam, WA realised a passion for drums as a teenager that has seen him perform locally, nationally and internationally in a career that has spanned for over 16 years.

Currently the full-time drummer for Tim & Jean and The Yabu Band, Jade was awarded WA “Indigenous Drummer of the Year” 2009 and a national Deadly Award with The Yabu Band in 2009.

Performing regularly at large festivals and venues around Australia, Jade has performed at Good Vibrations, The Big Day Out, Future Music, Southbound, Soundscape, Falls Festival, Fat As Butter, Field Day, Darwin Festival, Splendor In The Grass, The Sydney Opera House, WOMADelaide and The Dreaming Festival plus many more.

Jade has also supported artists such as Diesel, The Cat Empire, Thirsty Merc, Pete Murray, The Whitlams, Ross Wilson, Richard Clapton, Yothu Yindi, La Roux, Art Vs Science, Moby, Operator Please, Bag Raiders and many more.

He is the credited drummer on 19 Albums or EP releases by artists such as Dave Mann Collective, Djiva, Lauren Brede, You, Me and Ryan, Theresa Hillhouse, Stephen Kooley, Matt Larsen, Naomi Pigram, Tim & Jean, The Yabu Band and has made TV appearances on Channel 7, WIN, GWN, TEN Aurora TV, NITV and SBS.
