Born and raised in Germany, Boris Ehlers began playing drums in kindergarten at the age of 4. Trained in classical music as well as contemporary drumming, Boris started his professional career at the age of 19, when he was performing with several original and cover bands. Boris studied drums, percussion and music education at the Music Conservatory in Osnabrück and at the College of Music and Performing Arts in Hamburg/Germany. Boris also completed a Certificate Course at Berklee College of Music.
Being both a session and theatre drummer his performances have carried him throughout Europe and the U.K. He’s been the drummer for many successful musical shows and accompanied many renowned national and international artists. He has just released new albums with his late projects Funk Kombinat Kiel and The Noonday Dreams.
Boris is a visiting teacher at the Drummer's Institute Dusseldorf, a resident teacher at DefDrums Drumschool/ Hamburg and runs his own private teaching practice. When he’s not busy playing drums Boris works as a composer and producer. Boris is also endorsed by Pork Pie Drums and Agner Drumsticks.
