Originally from New Rochelle N.Y, I started playing the drums at age 10. A few years later, started lessons along with receiving my first Paiste cymbal, a used 19 inch 602 ride, not knowing at the time that it would be a first in my quest to collect as many Paiste cymbals as I can, which has become an obsession to this very day. I graduated Berklee College of Music in 1990, with a dual degree in Performance and Music Education.
Upon graduation I performed with rock bands throughout the Boston area. I began teaching music full time in 1995 in the city of Revere MA, teaching students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have always made sure to keep my classroom filled with instruments of the percussion family including 2 drumkits complete with an assortment of Paiste cymbals and Gong. Throughout my years of teaching, I am happy to have given the children the opportunity to experience world class cymbals, inspiring many of them to purchase Paiste’s of their very own!
Aside from teaching music in the classroom, I also direct a synth/percussion ensemble called the Rumney Marsh Academy percussion ensemble formally known as The Beachmont Percussion Ensemble made up of middle school students. Together, the students perform music ranging from progressive-rock inspired numbers to traditional classical and folk pieces. Over the years, the children have performed at events around the city and out of state. When not in the classroom, I freelance in the Boston area with various local bands, most recently the Nat Simpkins Jazz Trio.
